APRIL 2007 FLOOD

ALL ROADS CLOSED DURING THE FLOOD EMERGENCY ARE NOW OPEN
Long Hill Township's Proclamation of Local Disaster/Emergency has been lifted.

9:00 pm 4/17/07 Information received from a representative from the Board of Education is that
Long Hill Township schools will be open starting on Wedneday, April 18, 2007.
Numerous local roads are impassable or only able to be driven through water over the road.
Confirmed by the OEM 11:30 am on 4/19/07:
- Now Open Mountain Avenue, Gillette: technically closed with water over the road; passable with caution near Gillette rail station for high wheeled vehicles;
Now Open
Mountain Avenue, Gillette: closed over the Passaic River to Warren
- Now Open Morristown Road: closed, flooding near Madison Avenue
- Now Open Warren Avenue, Stirling: closed, flooded
- Now Open South Warren Avenue: closed (DPW traffic only)
- Now Open Mercer Street, Stirling: closed, flooded
- Now Open Magnolia, Laural and Cedar: closed
- Now Open Main Avenue, Stirling, from Mercer to Valley: closed
- Now Open Old Forge Road at Bungalow Terrace, Millington: closed, flooded
- Now Open Lord Stirling Road (Bernards Twp.): closed, flooded beyond the White Bridge, Millington
- Now Open Pleasant Plains Road: intersection with White Bridge Road: closed from Pleasant Plains into White Bridge;
Now Open
White Bridge Road: water over road, but passable with caution
- Now Open 4/18/07 11:00 am New Vernon Road, Meyersville all the way across the Great Swamp.
- Now Open 4/18/07 11:00 pm Valley Road, Stirling intersection at Main Avenue
- Now Open Bridge Avenue, Chatham Twp. closed (route to Berkeley Heights center used from Gillette, Meyersville, and Homestead Park residents)
- Now Open Springfield Avenue under water; detoured between Berkeley Heights and New Providence
Town Hall is open during regular business hours
Environmental Commission and Shade Tree Commission Meetings
were not held on Monday 4/16/07 (rescheduled dates to be announced)
Special Meeting program about Emergency Services scheduled at the Senior Center on Thursday,
4/19/07 will be held, but with reduced participation from the announced services because of their
ongoing personnel commitments to the flood emergency.
