ZONING & CONSTRUCTION CODE OFFICIALS

The first point of contact for any Planning/Zoning matters should be the Planning and Zoning Administrator. She will discuss your plans with you and advise whether you have an issue for the Planning Board or for the Zoning Board. If the proposal DOES require going before one of the Boards, she will provide you with the appropriate Applications. We suggest you read the web pages for those Boards (links above) before you see the Administrator, so you have some idea what each is responsible for.

The first point of contact for any Construction matter should be the Construction Office Secretary. She is in the Construction Office at Town Hall during regular business hours, and will do the following for you:

Provide general information
Furnish Construction Permit Applications
Accept completed Applications for review
Issue (approved) permits and collect permit fees
Schedule a meeting or call with an Official
Report on the schedule of an Official
Schedule inspections

The Construction and Zoning Officials are often in the field during their scheduled hours. Call first to see when they will be available at Town Hall.

Mr. Aroneo conducts fire subcode inspections for construction projects . To schedule these inspections, call extension 217 .

He is also the Fire Code Official and Fire Marshal. In that role, he inspects existing properties for fire code violations and issues "Smoke Detector Compliance Certificates" prior to the sale of a dwelling.

To report fire code violations , contact the Fire Marshal directly at extension 307.
