HAZARDOUS WASTE
PCs contain hazardous material. We now recycle PCs in Long Hill Township.
Hazardous waste is not accepted by the Township. Hazardous waste is different from the Recyclable waste. Hazardous waste includes:
- Pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer
- Oil paints, stains, varnishes, paint removers and thinners
- Automotive fluids, motor oil, brake and transmission fluid, antifreeze
- Household cleaning products and muriatic acid
- Gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel
- Pool and darkroom chemicals
- Asbestos (up to 100 lbs, wet down, triple-bagged and sealed)
- Driveway sealant and roofing tar
- Fluorescent bulbs, ballasts and mercury-containing devices
Hazardous waste can be dropped off several times a year at the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority collection center, 500 West Hanover Avenue, Parsippany.
