Engine 22 outside the Firehouse

Engine 22 was acquired in February 2002 to replace its 18-year-old predecessor. It is equipped with:

1750 GPM, single stage pump with built-in foam capability
A 750 gallon tank
3 inch top-mounted deck gun.
3 crosslays of hose behind cab on pull-out trays for easy access - 2 x 1 3/4 inch, 1 x 2 1/2 inch. These are the main fire-attack hoses.
Outlet and 100 feet of 1 3/4 hose in front bumper well for fast access to tight places
1000 feet of 5 inch, 500 feet of 3 inch and 150 feet of 1 3/4 inch hose on rear hose bed
Hydraulic ladder cradle



Engine 22 at its first major fire April 10, 2002

Carries 6 firefighters safely in an fully heated and air conditioned enclosed cab.
Radio headsets for the driver/pump operator to improve fireground communications.
350 HP 6 cylinder 505 Cu.In. electronically controlled diesel engine
Electronic torque converting 5 speed automatic transmission
Anti-lock brakes and engine exhaust brake
Auto-chains that drop down below the wheels at the push of a button
7500 watt diesel generator

A "Wetdown" was held on August 10, 2002. Over 700 people came to celebrate the new engine.



Engine 22 and Command 20 get baptized by a neighboring fire company.
